Granite State Sharp Shooters
The Granite State Sharp Shooters thank NRA Foundation Print

The Granite State Sharp Shooters would like to thank The NRA Foundation for their generous donation.

The Granite State Sharpshooters were recipients of a grant this spring from the NRA Foundation. The grant consisted of 11 Redfield spotting scopes, tripods and covers. These are now in use by the team and the word is, they are excellent. These scopes are an essential piece of gear and will make for an enjoyable experience. The EOC is proud of the Team and their progress to excellence. Click on the link for more information on the Sharpshooters.

The NRA foundation is funded by grassroots support. Money for this grant was raised by local Friends of NRA groups. The Upper Valley Friends of NRA is the group in this area. There are 9 more in NH. Check them out if you would like to get involved. You may contact David Stewart at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. About Granite State Sharp Shooters Print

The Enfield Outing Club is now home to a team of young guns, the Granite State Sharp Shooters. The twelve-member squad meets at the EOC on Sunday afternoons to practice competitive marksmanship skills. Ranging in age from 10 to 16 years, the Granite State Sharp Shooters members are coached by Scott Thompson, Ken May, and Roy Holland. The coaches share their expertise in marksmanship but also their enthusiasm and passion for shooting sports.

The team, which began in 2011, recently completed its first competitive NRA small-bore rifle events in Hudson, NH, and Taunton, MA. The Granite Sharp Shooters shoot .22 long rifle and 17 caliber air rifles, a variety of manufacturers that includes Winchester, Anschutz, and Savage. Team membership is open to students 10 to 18 years of age that have completed the NRA Basic Rifle course. The team is still a developing program acquiring both equipment and training.
