EOC 9th Annual Yard Sale at Huse Park in Enfield - July 27, 2013 Print

To all members:

The Enfield Outing Club will be holding the 9th Annual Yard Sale at Huse Park in Enfield on July 27th.
Donations and volunteers are needed. This is a big fund raiser for the Club and and has traditionally raised several hundred dollars. As you have noticed, the Club has ongoing improvements and money as well as manpower is needed. Currently we are creating an undercover shooting position and planning a 2nd range for pistol.

Please look around your home or business for items you can donate and consider helping out the day of the event, all day or part of the day. Help is especially needed early morning to transport to Huse Park and set up, and later afternoon to pack up and transport to Canaan F.D. Trucks and trailers are most helpful.

Items will be accepted and stored at the Club prior to the sale by arrangement with the President, David Stewart, (603) 632-7731 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Spring Clean-up Day After Action Report May 18th, 2013 Print

While tornadoes wreaked destruction in Oklahoma, one touched down at the Enfield Outing Club with the opposite affect. It was members who descended on the Club and wreaked construction!

Thanks to a dozen or so members, we eliminated some items off the to-do list. Early Saturday morning BOD members Arnie Koch & Zac Dworak met President Dave Stewart to begin construction of the woodshed. With a plan and having delivered the wood the day before, Arnie headed up this project. From  0700 to 1800 hrs Arnie with the help of several members through the day completed the frame, floor & roof. Thanks to VP Daniel Bergamini, BOD Brian Cavanaugh, BOD Scott Thompson for putting time and effort in on this important addition to the Club. With increased use of the Club house, we have been using more wood. The woodshed will hold 3 cord. Speaking of firewood, member Roger Barnes, with some help from Scott split the wood that's been in the yard for nearly a year. Yes they used a splitter, but it was still quite a bit of work. Thanks guys.

Meanwhile member Mike Dudley with some initial help from Zac and Dave cleaned out the shed and Mike built shelves. While that was happening GSSS member Noah Car and his Mom Kym first helped clean up and dispose of the debris at the archery range with the help of Dave and Brian. They then turned their attention to the target room and cleaned that up. With the help of GSSS member Amelia Wilson and her Mom, they sorted through and organized the contents. Some contents were shifted over to the shed, some will remain, some are yard sale items, some went to the dump. Amelia also cut some grass around the Clubhouse and down the archery range, great job!

Secretary Rebecca Stewart was busy most of the day, first cleaning out the file cabinets and organizing them. Many items that didn't belong there found appropriate homes. Each officer now has a drawer for their files, everything is labeled & easy to find. Tim Sample took a box of very old files home to work on and archive properly. Rebecca gave the interior of the Clubhouse a thoroughgoing over, sweeping and cleaning all surfaces, organizing the kitchen and generally mucking out the place.

Member Jon Colburn came by and with the help of  Brian worked on the front gate, straightening the hinge side post and repairing the gate itself. At least for now the gate doesn't hit the ground when you open it. It was determined the gate would need to be replaced in the near future due to irreparable corrosion. Mike Dudley and Dave will look into replacement cost.

Thanks to member Bob Cusick who donated a new piece of culvert for the ditch, right side of range. This will enable us to fill in and extend the berm. Member Bob Berube will be looking into the installation of that at some time.

So with all that being done, we can move forward. The conversion of the target room to a cover shooting position is a primary goal. Ideally we would like to have this available to use by fall.

As always, this Club depends on it's members to make it what it is. It's looking pretty darn good. If you have ideas, or time to put in, at any time, it is appreciated and needed. We've made great strides, so let's keep the good thing going.

Thanks again, on behalf of the Club to all who came to get it done. Well done.

Taking aim,

David Stewart
